How did you get into skateboarding?:
My best friend and Spirit Guide of all our skateboard adventures, O'balls, convinced me to give him a ride to an old water district bowl in San Jose... I asked him why he was going, he told me to ride his skateboard and I figured he was crazy and it was worth investigating. He convinced me to give it a shot and from the second I rolled around in the bowl and tried, for hours, to carve backside around a corner I was instantly in love. Since then I have been dedicated to the temple of Eros that is skateboarding - my love grows deeper daily, with each skill gained the ride gets better and better (insert sexual euphemism here), my body has been destroyed but my mind and heart have been saved. I won't stop until I can no longer breathe... It's beautiful!
What are your most memorable times skateboarding?:
Smiles... I mostly remember the smiles. I could list, alphabetically, all the gnarly stories from the 9 years that I've committed my life to skating but it would fail to transmit the value of the stories. Instead, I'd like to mention a few points to hopefully encourage others to get out there and build personal experiences of their own through empirically testing the curvature of space and time: Standouts - Getting jacked by tweakers in Arizona, beautiful Canadian women, multiple cross-country trips and the people we met along the way, being hit by cars, S.L.A.P., hours in the hospital for one thing or another, detaching my left arm from my upper body, building ramps, making fresh skate shapes, building a community and a family to flower for generations and sharing the human experience with others... Get some!
Which skateboarders have influenced you the most?:
Hands down, the award goes to my OG crew that helped fuel the fire in the first infant days of wiggleboarding - O'balls, Ganjastomari, Major BJ, Doug E Fresh and TIMMY. Many people have never heard of these cats but to me they are the crux of who I am and what it means to skateboard. They skate with passion greater than anyone I have yet to meet in "the skateboard world". As of now I am influenced by who I consider to be the best all-around ATV skater on the planet. If you don't it yet, his name is Casey Morrow and he constantly produces skateboarding that others haven't dreamed of. It is not only his creativity but also general approach that makes my heart smile anytime I see that guy. Also, it must be noted that my family of Sunset Sliders drive me to be a better and more well-rounded skater every moment of everyday. Without them I would be standing in a dark room just stroking my wood all alone...
